When do we start training dogs?

We usually start training dogs just after Labor Day; our temperature limit is 50 degrees: if it’s warmer than 50 we don’t run; sled dogs overheat pretty quickly above fifty and can overheat when it’s 40 if the conditions are right.

How do we train sled dogs with no snow?

We train our dogs by hooking them up to an ATV/4-wheeler and start by running 1-2 miles with a lot of resistance, keeping them at 4-6 mph.
